Princess Margaret Bridge Rehabilitation

GEMTEC investigated the present condition of the bridge piers in support of a major rehabilitation of the 1-km-long bridge. The concrete bridge piers were deteriorating due to the on-going effects of alkali-silica reaction.

Project highlights include:

• Investigation of concrete condition with extensive fieldwork and laboratory components
• Recommendations for rehabilitation and anticipated future ASR activity
• Ongoing testing and consulting services during construction
