Drumheller Institution

A slope failure occurred on a 19-metre-high slope of the landfill within the Drumheller Institution in Drumheller, Alberta. GEMTEC provided geotechnical services for the preliminary design, detailed design, and construction review of the stabilization of the slopes at the landfill.

Project components included:

• Rotational slope stability analyses of various design options
• Design of surface water mitigation measures
• Options assessment, costing and design document preparation
• Full-time field supervision during the construction
