Initiatives and Programs
WiSE
GEMTEC is working to help shape a supportive and impactful community through local Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) chapters. This initiative is designed to foster connection among women leaders working in engineering, sciences, and other professional services, with a focus on shared experiences, and leadership development. Employees will build confidence, develop leadership skills through networking, workshops, and professional growth opportunities.
PAIR
GEMTEC is proud to have achieved the Committed Level of the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations (PAIR) program through the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB). This journey reflects our ongoing dedication to building meaningful, respectful, and sustainable relationships with Indigenous communities.
We recognize the importance of reconciliation, collaboration, and creating opportunities that support mutual growth. Through the PAIR framework, we are taking measurable steps to strengthen our practices in employment, business development, community engagement, and leadership accountability—ensuring Indigenous inclusion is part of how we do business.
Community Impact
Greener Village
Our Corporate Services team had the privilege of heading to Greener Village to make soup kits for an event being held the following day. This event was part of the relaunch of Greener Village’s kitchen following their recent renovations.
Greener Village is the food bank for the greater Fredericton, NB area. Their mission is to provide food, clothing, and opportunities people need on their journey to self-sufficiency.
GEMTEC is pleased to have had the opportunity to learn about healthy eating habits and gain cooking skills while being able to help out and make delicious soups for Greener Village clients. It was a meaningful opportunity to give back and support the incredible work the food bank does every day. We're grateful to have been a part of it!
Giving Back to Our Community
At GEMTEC, we believe in supporting the communities where we live and work. Each year, we contribute to a variety of charitable initiatives, including donations to local hospital foundations, local food banks, youth sports, participation in the Terry Fox Run, supporting PRIDE Halifax, and other grassroots efforts that make a meaningful impact. On average, we donate over $40,000 annually to causes that matter to our employees and neighbours, reflecting our commitment to building a stronger, more connected community.
