Dynamic Pile Testing, Northwest Territories

GEMTEC undertook dynamic pile testing for a new bridge structure being constructed on the MacKenzie Highway No. 1, over the Kakisa River, in the Northwest Territories.

Project highlights include:

• Dynamic pile testing using a Pile Driving Analyzer (PDA)
• Aggressive construction schedule
• Demonstrated that friction piles, driven to 10 m below foundation grade, achieved the required geotechnical resistance in axial compression
