Matt Nicholson

Matt Nicholson is the Branch Manager of GEMTEC’s Fredericton office. He is a Civil Engineer with over 15 years of experience delivering municipal and civil infrastructure projects throughout New Brunswick.

A graduate of the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Matt began his career as a Geotechnical Engineer-in-Training, developing a strong understanding of subsurface conditions and the importance of proper granular design for construction. In recent years he has focused more on municipal work for a large variety of clients all over the Atlantic province.

Matt’s experience includes municipal project management, civil site design, grading plans, municipal servicing, surveys, AutoCAD design, specifications, tendering and contracts, and full-time site inspection. In 2025, he became the Fredericton Branch Manager while continuing work in the municipal group.
